The quality of learning implementation greatly determines success in leraning outcomes. One of the factors that influence success in learning is the use of learning media. However, facts on the ground show that when the Independent Curriculum or in Indonesian we call it Kurikulum Merdeka, some teachers found it difficult to choose, use and utilize learning media that was in accordance with the local wisdom of each school’s region. This fact underlies the aim of this research, namely to determine the implementation of learning in the use of Merdeka Curriculum-based learning media. In carrying out the research, this research used a mix-method design with an explanatory sequential design type. This research took a sample of teachers teaching Natural Sciences subjects in schools in Lamongan Regency. The results of the research show that the achievement of implementing independent curriculum-based science learning in the use of learning media is categorized as Good. The factors that cause science learning to be implemented in the Very Good category have not been achieved because based on the results of interviews with research subjects, it is stated that science teachers still experience difficulties in integrating learning media in independent curriculum-based learning.
