Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a practicum tool using ultrasonic sensors combined with Arduino as an auxiliary medium for wave material practicum. This research process is a development research (R&D),which refers to Sugiyono's model which uses 10 steps, namely: (1) Potentials and problems, (2) Data collection, (3) Product design, (4) Design validation, (5) Design revision , (6) product testing, (7) product revision, (8) usage trial, (9) product revision, and (10) mass production. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with a five-Likert scale aimed at media experts and students of the Tadulako University Physics Education in order to test the feasibility and quality of the practicum tools. After validation and limited trials,the product quality data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The quality of the product based on the results of the analysis of the media measurement results was 82.5% with the interpretation "Very Good". While the results of student responses to the limited trial, the proportion value of 86.66% with the interpretation "Strongly Agree". Based on the results of trials and questionnaire analysis it can be concluded that the practicum tool using an ultrasonic sensor combined with the Arduino developed was suitable for use.
