Abstract

Calories are the amount of energy in food. The key to a healthy body is knowing how many calories are in the food consumed so that it can be adjusted to the amount of energy needed and burned by the body. So that it is important for people to have a calorie counter so that they can count the number of calories in each food and drink, finally people can choose a menu that is healthy for the body and sufficient for the body's daily needs. This study aims to design and build a digital food calorie balance using a load cell mass sensor, HX711 module and Arduino Uno, characterize food and beverage calorie balances and analyze the results of food calorie balance work tests. The testing method is carried out by calibrating the digital calorie balance tool with two calibrated digital balances then measuring the mass multiplied by the calorie count of each gram of the food so as to produce the required amoun of calories. The results of the design of this tool are in the form of calibration testing which obtained a deviation value of 0 and an error of 0% with two digital balances calibrated using the smallest scale value of 1 gram. This design also produces a load cell mass sensor value, the HX71 module and the Arduino Uno with the load cell calibration results having a std value of 0 and an error of 0%. The results of the analysis of food calorie testing in the form of white rice, brown rice, fried chicken, fried tofu, fried tempeh from 0-500 grams obtained an error value of 0-0.04%.
