Abstract

Some members of the community still live under the 500 kV Extra High Voltage Air System (SUTET), such as in Kersikan Village, Godang Wetan District, Pasuruan Regency. There are two SUTET transmission lines passing through the residential area. During observations, the residents of Kersikan Village reported disturbances to electronic equipment in their homes, including television signal disruptions. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of the lateral distance of the ELF electromagnetic field from the 500 kV SUTET tower on internet download and upload signals on mobile phones. This research is quantitative and uses survey techniques. There are three variables in this study: ELF magnetic field intensity, ELF electric field intensity, and internet signal. Mobile phones of three different brands and an LTE (Long-Term Evolution) network were used to test the impact of signal interference against the ELF electromagnetic field intensity by SUTET. Research data were measured at increasing distances from the SUTET and at different times.
