Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the type of cooperative learning model of the two stay two stray (TSTS) can improve the mastery of students' style material. The type of research used is descriptive research. The population in this research is all students of class VIII SMP Kristen Tounwawan totaling 48 people. The sample in this study was class VIIIA students, totaling 24 people, taken using a random sampling technique. The results showed that the ability of students on the initial test was below the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria) with an average value of 30.65, so that all indicators in this study must be taught using the TSTS type cooperative learning model in the learning process carried out by the cognitive abilities of students to be good, this can be seen in the average achievement assessed using LKPD 84. In addition, it can be proven by the average achievement final score of 79.52. From these gains, it can be seen that the increase in students with an average gain of 0.70 is included in the Medium category.
