Abstract

In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, learning innovations were carried out in collecting practicum data by utilizing digital technology using smartphone sensors to help students observe objects and process data into graphs. This study aims to describe the effect of the practicum using the Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite based on guided inquiry on students' chart interpretation skills. The research population was class X MIPA students at SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung. The sample selection used a purposive sampling technique with class X MIPA 3 as the experimental class. The research design uses Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data collection techniques in research are test techniques in the form of pretest and posttest. The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to interpret graphs with an average N-Gain of 0.71 in the high category. The results of the Independent Sample T-test showed that there was a difference in the mean scores between the experimental class and the control class, which showed a significant effect of the treatment on students' graphic interpretation skills. The magnitude of the treatment effect is also shown from the Cohen's (d) value of 1.21 in the large category.
